Temi Adeniji Named to Billboard’s Global Power Players List for Second Consecutive Year

Warner Music Africa’s Leadership Recognized Globally
Temi Adeniji, Managing Director of Warner Music Africa (WMA), has once again been honored as one of Billboard’s Global Power Players, marking her second consecutive year on the prestigious list. Her recognition underscores a year of strategic expansion and cultural influence across the African continent.

Expanding Warner Music’s African Footprint
Over the past year, Adeniji spearheaded major developments for Warner Music in Africa, including the launch of Warner Music Africa Francophone in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. She also oversaw the acquisition of Africori, a leading African music business. These moves signal Warner Music’s growing investment in regional markets and its commitment to supporting diverse African talent.

Supporting a New Generation of African Artists
Under Adeniji’s leadership, Warner Music Africa continues to champion artists shaping Africa’s modern music identity. The label’s roster includes rising and established names such as Joeboy, Kold AF, Flavour, Master KG, and Makhadzi. Their collective success was on display at the 2025 Metro FM Awards, where the collaborative project Kwelanga 2.0 by Ranger, Amaza, Bassie, and M-Touch received three nominations, including Best Amapiano Song. Makhadzi was also awarded the coveted Artist of the Year title.

Industry Growth Mirrors Regional Momentum
Adeniji’s recognition comes at a time when the global recorded music industry continues its upward trajectory. According to the IFPI Global Music Report 2025, global music revenue reached $29.6 billion in 2024, with streaming alone contributing over $20 billion—nearly 70% of the market. Notably, Sub-Saharan Africa posted a 22.6% year-on-year growth, surpassing $100 million in annual revenue for the first time.

A Vision for African Music’s Global Future

“This recognition reflects the important work happening across the continent and the strength of our artists’ voices,”

Adeniji said in response to the announcement.

“It’s a privilege to help build the infrastructure that supports African music’s global trajectory.”

Global Peers in Leadership
Adeniji is listed alongside other global executives from Warner Music Group, including Simon Robson (President, EMEA Recorded Music), Alain Veille (President, Warner Music France), and Niels Walboomers (President, Benelux Recorded Music, Publishing, and Spinnin’ Records). Her inclusion highlights Africa’s growing influence within the global music landscape.
