Nazeem Noordali Appointed as Officer-in-Charge
The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) (www.ITFC-IDB.org), the trade finance arm of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, has announced the appointment of Mr. Nazeem Noordali as Officer-in-Charge, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ITFC, effective February 8, 2025.
Mr. Noordali takes over from Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, who completed his full tenure as CEO on February 7, 2025.
With over 28 years of experience in trade finance, international development, and Islamic finance, Mr. Noordali previously served as Chief Operations Officer of ITFC and Head of the Trade Solutions Complex within the organization.
His extensive expertise in structuring trade finance solutions and driving economic development across Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries positions him as a key leader in the institution’s future growth.
In his new capacity, Mr. Noordali will oversee ITFC’s mission to advance trade, improve lives, and make a lasting economic impact in OIC member countries.
His leadership is expected to ensure continuity in ITFC’s strategic initiatives, particularly in supporting sustainable trade solutions that foster economic resilience in emerging markets.
The ITFC plays a crucial role in promoting Shariah-compliant trade finance, enhancing regional trade integration, and empowering businesses in OIC member states.
Under Mr. Noordali’s leadership, the corporation is set to further strengthen its role as a leading facilitator of Islamic trade finance, driving innovation and financial inclusion across global markets.
