Business news anchor Nzinga Qunta releases children’s book
Nzinga Qunta, a business news anchor with broadcast experience of over a decade in television and radio has released a children’s book, Amari’s Adventures.
Amari’s Adventures is aninteractive picture book about a little girl who goes on an adventure and encounters beautiful South African plants, animals and people along the way.
She encourages little ones reading the book to count with her. Amari’s adventures is available in all 11 official South African languages as well as Nama.
“This book is for ages between 0-6, it’s for little ones who are learning how to count and interact with the world around them. It’s been translated into all 11 official languages and is also been translated into Nama which is spoken by the people in the Northern Cape. This project was made possible by the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture’s Mzansi Golden Economy Programme,”
The aim of the book is to encourage literacy and numeracy in an easy, fun way, in their mother tongue.
There are readings of the book being held in provinces across South Africa, in indigenous languages primary schools and in early childhood development centres.
Books are being donated to ECD centres, schools and libraries. The project was made possible with funding from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture’s Means Golden Economy programme
