Lekau Sehoana Announces New Business Venture
A Challenging Five Months
South African entrepreneur Lekau Sehoana, the founder of Drip Footwear, has opened a new business following the recent liquidation of his sneaker brand. He took to social media to share his journey over the past five months, describing the challenges he faced, including commission inquiries, frozen bank accounts, and asset attachments.
Refusing to Be Defined by Crisis
Despite the difficulties, Sehoana chose not to dwell on the setbacks.
“I refused to let the crisis take over my life,”
he stated, explaining why he declined media interviews about the liquidation. Instead, he focused on learning from the experience and planning his comeback.
Lessons Learned and a New Approach
Sehoana emphasized that his struggles provided lessons no university could teach. He used this period of reflection to strategize a new way forward, leading to the launch of his latest business.
Grand Opening at Mall of Africa
As part of his comeback, Sehoana announced the opening of a new store in partnership with @officiallytape at Mall of Africa. This marks a shift from his previous strategy, where Drip Sportif was only available in DRIP-owned stores and outlets.

Competing with Global Brands
With his new venture, Sehoana is stepping into a more competitive space.
“Now we exist in a world where we directly compete with international brands. A new challenge we’ll take head-on with more lessons added,”
he shared.
The Rebirth of a Vision
Sehoana ended his statement with a powerful declaration:
“It feels good to say, we’re BACK!!! R E B I R T H.”
His comeback signals a new era in his entrepreneurial journey, proving resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity.
