Canon EMEA Appoints Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida as New President

Canon EMEA, a global leader in imaging and print technologies, has announced the appointment of Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida as its new President & CEO, effective March 1, 2025. Yoshida succeeds Yuichi Ishizuka, who is retiring after seven years in the role and a distinguished 44-year career with Canon.

A Vision for Growth and Innovation

Yoshida transitions into the role from Canon USA, where he previously served as Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, Chairman & CEO of Canon Solutions America, Inc., and Canon Financial Services, Inc. His leadership experience spans manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability, having played a key role in establishing Canon Virginia, Inc., the company’s major manufacturing hub in the Americas.

As he steps into his new position, Yoshida will lead Canon EMEA’s vast operations across 120 countries, overseeing approximately 12,300 employees. The region contributes a quarter of Canon’s global revenues annually, making it a crucial pillar of the company’s worldwide success.

Expanding Canon’s Market Presence

With a strong foundation in imaging and printing technology, Yoshida aims to drive growth in existing core businesses while expanding into emerging sectors such as B2B Imaging, Industrial and Commercial Printing, and Information Management Solutions.

Canon is the market leader in imaging and print technologies with millions of customers throughout EMEA; this diverse and exciting region is full of opportunity, and I am honoured to be leading the business through the next phase of innovation and growth,

said Yoshida.

A Legacy of Leadership

Outgoing CEO Yuichi Ishizuka leaves behind an impressive legacy, having held senior positions in Japan, the USA, and Canada. One of his standout achievements was pioneering the launch of the Cinema EOS range in the US—an innovation that has revolutionized film production and established Canon’s presence in the video industry.
