Free State Fashion Week Welcomes Nkokheli Lindazwe as New Creative Director

The Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) has announced the appointment of Nkokheli Lindazwe as its new Creative Director, effective immediately.

This strategic move comes as the prestigious fashion institution prepares for its highly anticipated 2024 campaign, set to launch at the annual FSFW Women’s Month Business Breakfast on August 24, 2024, at the Bloemfontein City Hall.

Nkokheli Lindazwe, a well-regarded media practitioner known for his dynamic contributions to the creative sector, expressed his enthusiasm about joining the FSFW team.

“I am so thrilled to join the Free State Fashion Week movement,”

Lindazwe stated.

“This institution isn’t just about showcasing fashion; it’s about driving cultural and industry advancements while providing a vital platform for emerging designers. The Free State Fashion School, in particular, represents a cornerstone of this movement, nurturing young talent who often graduate to become prominent figures in the fashion world. My passion for using creativity to empower others aligns perfectly with FSFW’s mission.”

Affectionately known as ‘Nkox’ in his community, Lindazwe’s career is marked by a series of groundbreaking achievements.

He began his journey as a radio broadcaster with Kovsie FM and CUT FM, where he spent over a decade honing his skills as a radio jock and broadcast trainer. Notably, he was the youngest station manager at Kovsie FM, and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Central Vibe, an influential online media platform in Bloemfontein.

In 2019, Lindazwe co-founded the nationwide ‘Careers Magazine,’ serving as General Manager for three years. His creative drive further manifested in the establishment of the Sunset Groove music festival, which brought MacG’s renowned Podcast and Chill to Bloemfontein.

His commitment to mentorship is also evident in his role as co-founder of the SWCM Non-profit company, dedicated to law career guidance and mentoring young legal professionals.

Candy Smith, CEO and Founder of Free State Fashion Week, praised Lindazwe’s appointment.

“We are thrilled to announce Nkox as the new Creative Director of Free State Fashion Week. His extensive creativity, vision, and industry experience align seamlessly with our goal of celebrating and elevating fashion in the Free State. Nkox’s innovative approach and dedication to pushing fashion boundaries will inspire our designers, models, and audiences. We eagerly anticipate the fresh perspectives and creative flair Nkox will bring to this year’s event and beyond. We are confident that his leadership will be pivotal in showcasing the diverse talent within our community.”

The FSFW’s 2024 campaign details and themes will be unveiled at their upcoming Women’s Month Business Breakfast event. As the fashion world eagerly awaits, Nkokheli Lindazwe’s appointment signals a new era of creativity and innovation for the Free State Fashion Week.
