The 13th annual Mozilla Festival is celebrating the collective power of people in turbocharging change with one of our own, Lelapa AI CEO, Pelonomi Moiloa.
Pelonomi Moiloa has spent 8 years in the data science domain, leading data science teams in developing and productionalising machine learning solutions in the finance industry.
She has Biomedical and Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MSc from Tohoku University where she did research on a deep learning application for neurophysiology.

Lelapa.AI is a ground-breaking local artificial intelligence created by Moiloa and her co-founders. Lelapa.AI is about developing locally tailored consumer products and services using AI skills, as well as acting as a research hub exclusively for African problems to be solved by Africans.
The company was established in 2022 by a group of highly skilled researchers, scientists, and engineers who are committed to harnessing AI to make a significant difference in society.
The MozFest will feature 8,000+ participants, 400+ hands-on sessions and 30+ lightning talks and art exhibits. MozFest will take place online from 20 – 24 March 2023.
